Pinetree Drive runs from 23rd to 64th St. it is one of Miami Beach’s oldest most beautiful neighborhoods. John Collins a horticulturist from New Jersey came to Florida in 1896, he is considered one of the City’s founders. Collins came to Miami Beach after purchasing 1,675 acres of swampland in Miami Beach and came to grow avocados, he had the largest avocado grove in the world. Collins planted Australian Pine trees along the street, which still exist today as wind breakers for his Groves. John Collins turned developer while in Miami Beach and dredged the Collins canal along Pinetree Dr. to link the oceanfront to the bay, and then built the Collins Bridge across Biscayne Bay, connecting the Beach to the City of Miami, this bridge was built in 1913 and back then it was known as the longest bridge in the world.
Along Pinetree Drive you will find some of Miami Beach’s oldest and grandest waterfront Estates. Pinetree also has a wonderful selection of non-waterfront homes, and even some multi-family residential buildings in the 23 to 50th Street area. Pinetree dr. is very centrally located minutes from I95, Parks, schools, and our fabulous Beaches.
