An 11-bedroom estate known as Castello del Sol has been sold for a record-breaking $30 million, making it the most expensive home ever bought on La Gorce Island in Miami Beach, according to EWM Realty International and Coldwell Banker, the brokerages handling the deal.

The mansion, at 42 La Gorce Circle, is tied for the third most expensive sale  in Miami-Dade County, MLS records show, the releases said. An unnamed European corporation purchased the property from another corporation, 1418518 Ontario Inc., which bought it in 2001 for $12.45 million.

EWM’s top producer Esther Percal acted as the sales agent and Coldwell Banker broker team the Jills, had the listing;

The home, which sits on a 70,914-square-foot lot, has 14  bathrooms and three half-baths, as well as 349 feet of Biscayne Bay water frontage. Former Centrust Bank Chairman David Paul,  convicted on fraud charges in 1993, once owned the property.

“You truly feel like you are in your own private resort, with lagoon-style pool, cascading waterfall, three teak docks with room for a large yacht, gym, tennis court and the most magnificent grounds,” Eber said in the Coldwell Banker statement.

“This is a stunning estate — one of the most unique properties on the Eastern Seaboard,”  Percal noted in the EWM release.
