Pinecrest is a community southwest of Coconut Grove and is one of the more affluent neighborhoods in Miami-Dade County. With many parks, private and public schools, competitive youth leagues, and larger home lots, Pinecrest is ideal for families with children.
Pinecrest Gardens park, the former location of Parrot Jungle, is full of natural streams, sinkholes, caves, and lush tropical plants and trees. In 2002, the City of Pinecrest purchased the property and renamed it Pinecrest Gardens, and the landmark has been an attractive family activity for years.
The highest sale in the past few years was 5745 SW 9th Street at $7.4 million in November of 2017, and close behind was Moss Street in July of 2018 for $7.2 million. The residences in Pinecrest range form the high $6 million to a more modest $200,000 price point. Overall, it’s a safe and conveniently located town that appeals to many families with children, younger or older.
